Latest technology for the best care

Intravascular Ultrasound- IVUS

Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) is a diagnostic test. This test uses sound waves to see inside blood vessels. It is useful for evaluating the coronary arteries that supply the heart.

Optical Coherence Tomography-OCT

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a novel invasive imaging technique that produces high resolution intracoronary images. Its general principle of operation is similar to IVUS, however OCT uses infrared light, not ultrasound.

Fractional Flow Reserve-FFR

Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is a technique used in coronary angiography to measure pressure differences across a coronary artery stenosis (blockage) to determine the likelihood that the stenosis impedes oxygen delivery to the heart muscle and thereby assess whether to open it or not.

Bespoke features

  • Heart Attack Clinical Pathway - When a patient experiences symptoms of an impending heart attack it is crucial that he reach the hospital as soon as possible. Equally important is the time taken by the hospital to open the patients blocked artery. This is called Door to Balloon time - time when patient enters the door of emergency to shifting to cath lab and opening his blocked artery by angioplasty. At Max Heart Centre we have a robustly implemented STEMI Clinical Pathway that strives to ensure the fastest Door to Balloon times. We have achieved Door to Balloon times as short as 28 minutes (International standard is less than 90 minutes). Clinical Pathway is a pre-specified protocol driven process to ensure efficiency and is regularly audited for improvement.

  • Heart Failure Clinic - Held every Thursday, Heart Failure Clinic recognises the need of multi-disciplinary involvement and detailed evaluation required by heart failure patients.
