A triple threat with a synergy of army background, medical expertise, and administrative experience, Dr Sandhu approaches his work with values instilled from his military service—honesty and honour. He seamlessly combines medical knowledge with administrative prowess, striving to improve the medical industry's ability to cater to patients and enhance their lives.
Dr. Sandhu's journey began with his graduation from the Armed Forces Medical College in 1986. Following this, he pursued MD and DNB in Medicine from Pune University in 1993. He continued his academic pursuits by completing his DM in Cardiology from PGIMER, in 2001.
Owing to his notable tenure in the Army Medical Corps, he retired as a Senior Advisor cardiology at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. After his exemplary service, he returned to his alma mater, assuming the exalted role of Associate Professor of Medicine and Cardiology.
He further moved on to excelling at interventional cardiology with 16 years of experience post-DM, working as principal director cardiology at Max Hospital and Paras. Joining Artemis Hospital in July 2011 as Director-Cardiology, he was later re-designated as Medical Director and Director-Cardiology.
As a medically proficient C-suite leader and Board Member, well-suited to roles focused on operational improvement and technology enablement, this position allowed him to extend his impact beyond clinical practice. He championed the development of successful software applications to improve nursing assessment times, adherence to nursing care plans, and nursing feedback.
He was also asked to accompany the President of India on tours on account of his contributions and earned a fellowship with the American College of Cardiology amongst other esteemed organisations.
